Villa Bogdanovic

The Villa “Bogdanovic "is situated in the village Kalna, in the Knjaževac municipality, at the foot of the mountain Stara Planina. It is 300 km away from Belgrade,60 km from Nis 68 km from Sokobanja, 39 km away from Pirot and 29 km away from Knjaževac. The village Kalna is situated on the banks of two rivers, Trgoviški Timok and Izvorska, surrounded by the beautiful mountain ranges of Stara Planina . What used to be the administrative center of the villages of Stara Planina, today is a small village with more than 200 inhabitants giving their guests the opportunity to relax and rest. Come and enjoy the walks through the beautiful pastures and forests; swim in the mountain river, participate in picking remedy herbs and mushrooms, feel the taste of spring water and wake up to the sound of birds chirping.

"Vila Bogdanovic" has its own large yard, which consists of a landscaped lawn with lots of flowers, while the other part of the yard consists of a fruit garden and forests, where there is summer house and lounge chairs for resting and relaxation for guests. In our garden you will have a sense of untouched nature and total privacy and silence.

"Vila Bogdanovic" is located 18 km from the ski center "Stara planina." You can arrive to the starting point of four-seat ski lift to Konjarnik by passenger car in about 20 minutes. All guests who are interested can optionally use the organized transportation to the ski slopes and ski rental.

The house was built in the sixties for domicile family purposes, but was completely renovated and adapted in 2009 in order to welcome guests and provide accommodation and full board. Despite the reconstruction the house kept the external look of the authentic Stara Planina architecture, with the old wooden windows, the building and framing with stone and brick with a large porch AK.A. "The corner" with the Moravian arches and wooden fence. In addition to the main house, in the yard there is another smaller facility, where the hosts live and where food is prepared for the guests. The villa was inspired by the so-called. "Kalkans" which represent the specific ethnic architecture of Stara planina. The hosts’ house has a big porch where food for the guests is served during the summer and where they usually rest and relax.
